BMO Supports International Relief Efforts

TORONTO, May 14 /CNW/ -- TORONTO, May 14 /CNW/ - BMO Financial Group today announced that it will make a corporate donation of $150,000 to the Red Cross to support that agency's efforts to provide relief to earthquake victims in China.

"Everyone at BMO was deeply saddened by the news, and our thoughts are with those who have lost family and friends," said Bill Downe, President and CEO, BMO Financial Group.

"The earthquake in Sichuan was devastating," said Bob Martin, Managing Director and Regional Executive, Asia, for BMO Financial Group, who resides in Shanghai. "Our employees in China appreciate the support from their colleagues around the world."

In addition, BMO will match donations from its employees for the Red Cross relief efforts in China, as well as for victims of Cyclone Nargis in Burma (Myanmar).

BMO clients across Canada can also make contributions to relief efforts in either country (China or Burma) by visiting the local BMO Bank of Montreal branch.
