Sommosin you're right to a degree but the truth the PS3 is a great system but sony is going to blow it like they always do. PSP is all I have to say.

I was reading an article comparing the specs on the Xbox 360 vs the PS3... not much difference in performance! I don't see why sony is charging such a steep price when they don't even hold a monopoly on game titles anymore. blunder indeed.

Point taken, it's interesting though, because when it comes down to these gaming units, you only got the big ones from Microsoft, Sony and well, Nintendo as well. Every kid wants one, even if the graphics aren't up to par, but then again, hey, they're kids, so how much would they care. Having one in their living room is cool enough to bring friends over. An opening price of $699 will definitely not be the case, but if they don't optimize on getting enough units out before xmas for whatever their reason may be, they will miss the prime season to boost revenues. Good insight though.

This may be true but I still think that unless they've improved the graphics problems seen at E3 then it doesn't matter how many units they get out. An opening price of $699 per unit could be the biggest blunder Sony has ever made. I could be wrong but the 360 graphics and media center is gonna be hard to beat especially when looking at the general price. Also keep an eye on Nintendo I think the WII is gonna have huge sales like it hasn't seen since years.
